A young man, believed to be a drug trader, has been found dead at the Sadar Upazila in Jashore. He died in a gunfight between drug traders, police said. The police recovered 2kg of cannabis and 200 yaba pills from the scene, said SI Mokhlesuzzaman of Kotwali Police Station. Police were informed of the ‘gunfight between drug dealers’ at around 3.00am on Monday, he said.
“The drug traders fled when they sensed the presence of the police. The police recovered an unidentified body with bullet wounds from the scene.”
Police sent the body to the Jashore General Hospital Morgue, said SI Mokhlesuzzaman.
The young man of about 30 years had died before he reached the hospital, Shafiullah Sabuj, a doctor, told bdnews24.com.
Police believe the man was a drug trader as they recovered drugs from the scene. They are trying to identify him.
