Senior journalist Amanullah Kabir has been hospitalised in a critical condition.
The 72-year old senior editor of bdnews24.com has been suffering from different complications including diabetes.
Amanullah Kabir was first admitted to Dhaka Central International Hospital on Thursday and then shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhanmondi on Tuesday following deterioration of his condition, said his daughter Shovan Kabir.
"His condition is critical," she said.
Former president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), Amanullah Kabir had suffered cardiac arrest in 2016.
He was the founding editor of Bangla Daily Amar Desh and now defunct English daily The Telegraph. He also discharged duty as the managing editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.
