No long haul buses and goods-laden vehicles were seen plying on the roads in Sirajganj, Khulna, Jhenidah, Narail, Meherpur and Sherpur since this morning.

During a visit to various Bus Terminals in those districts, the correspondent saw the buses kept in a row while the ticket counters remained shut.
Earlier, agitating transport owners and workers withdrew their strike after the government assured them of considering their reasonable demands.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal made the announcement while talking to reporters in the early hours of the day after a meeting with leaders of Bangladesh Truck, Covered-van Goods Transport Owners-Workers Oikya Parishad at his Dhanmondi residence.
