“We are relentlessly trying to implement Bangabandhu"s dream to make Bangladesh "Sonar Bangla" under the astute leadership of Sheikh Hasina. I hope we can achieve this,” he said. “Many quarters, including a certain political party of the country, tried several times to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, but failed eventually. They even tried to put up obstacles before Sheikh Hasina"s work aimed at taking the country forward,” he added.

He said he had already directed the upazila engineering office to make a list of all dilapidated roads in the upazila and prepare a project. “I will try to pass the project in parliament,” he added.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed us to work for building the villages to town, which will be gradually implemented under the leadership of the Prime Minister. “All efforts were on to upgrade Dohar and Nawabganj upazilas to towns. And the two upazilas will be the best upazila among the others upazilas of the country,” he said.

He urged all people of the upazilas to come forward to implement development efforts.

“By killing the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975, some people tried to foil the spirit of the independence. But they failed when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came to power in 1996,” said Rahman.

After the programme, he inaugurated a new school building at the Nawabganj Pilot Girls School and College.

During the inauguration, he said that the Prime Minister was working for women"s empowerment. And many government high officials are now women. To increase women participation in different fields, it was important to improve the academic results of girls. “The Prime Minister also said that to increase the number of women members of parliament to more than 50 per cent, we should first ensure proper education of girls,” he said.

Rahman said the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) era was approaching fast. For that students would have to be skilled in technological aspects especially in computer programming and the coding system.

He also said students were the future of the country, and the country would go forward under the leadership of the students in future.

During the programme, the teachers of these schools raised different issues before the adviser to the Prime Minister and Rahman assured them of early implementation of the demands.
