Opposition alliance Jatiya Oikya Front on Monday declared their 35-point election manifesto ahead of the 11th general election slated for December 30 pledging to bring ballance of power between president and prime minister if the front voted to power.
Front leaders announced the manifesto at a press conference at Hotel Purbani at about 11:50am.
Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna read out 14 major points of the manifesto saying that the pledges made in the election charter would be implemented within five years if the front voted to power
The manifesto also includes that none would hold the post of prime minister for two terms consecutively, amendment would be brought in Article 70 of the constitution through discussion with all, deputy speaker in parliament would be elected from among opposition parliament members and creation of an upper house in parliament.
The front also promised there would be no age limit for entrance in public services except military and police forces, stopping extra-judicial killing and scrapping digital security act.
JOF top leader Kamal Hossain made opening remarks at the programme where Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir , ASM Abdur Rab and Abdul Kader Siddique, among others, were present.
