“We are taking part in the election with a pledge to bring back democratic atmosphere and establish good governance in the country,” Hawlader, special assistant to the JP chairman, told reporters.

“The party is announcing the manifesto only for setting up a goal to ensure people’s welfare through bringing a meaningful change in the democratic practices,” he said.

Hawlader said, “The party will establish provincial system bringing change in existing central government structure if it voted to power in the December 30 national elections”.
The country’s eight divisions would be turned into eight provinces and those will be named as Uttar Banga Province, Barendra, Jahangirnagar, Jalalabad, Jahanabad, Chandra Dip, Moynamoti and Chattrala Province, he said.

Terming the 18-point pledge as good luck symbol for the people, Hawlader said the proposal was the main spirit of the party that has created a new horizon of development and prosperity in the country during its nine years of rule from 1982 to 1990.

Highlighting achievements of the party’s previous nine-year rule, Hawlader said this party has pledged to rebuild a new Bangladesh upholding the objectives of the young generation.

The 11th general election will be held on December 30. It was deferred once by the Election Commission upon demands from the opposition political parties.
