‘Debi’, the biggest blockbuster of the last year, is now set to be exclusively available on Grameenphone’s online streaming platform Bioscope from this February 14. To make it happen, Bioscope and the ‘Debi’ team have signed an agreement at GP House in the capital’s Bashundhara Residential area recently, said a press release.
Jaya Ahsan, along with her team, and the representatives from Bioscope’s platform partner Bongo were present at the signing ceremony on January 31.
’Debi’ was released on October 19, 2018. Since then, it has been one of the most talked-about and crowd-pleasing films and earned tremendous admiration from both national and international audience. The film is based on a famous novel ’Debi’ by Humayun Ahmed, which features the iconic character, Misir Ali. Directed by Anam Biswas, the film stars Chanchal Chowdhury and Jaya Ahsan, two of the most prolific and versatile actors of present time.
Jaya Ahsan said, “I first read the book a long time ago and it’s one of the most enigmatic stories of the ’Misir Ali’ series and when the role was offered to me, I felt honoured and privileged to play ’Ranu’. It was challenging to portray her character on screen as we needed the audience to feel the paranormal and psychological trauma she was going through each day of her life. But I immensely enjoyed the role and I am delighted to see that the hard work of the entire ’Debi’ family has paid off pretty well.”
Android users can download the Bioscope Live app from Google Play Store and iOS users can download from the Apple Store to enjoy the film. The film is also available on the Bioscope.
