The curtain will fall on the eight-day ‘Bangladesh Short and Documentary Film Festival 2018’ today taking place in 64 districts simultaneously across the country.
The closing ceremony followed by award ceremony will be held today at the National Art Plaza of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital.
Eminent filmmaker Salahuddin Zaki will be present at the award ceremony as the chief guest, while filmmaker Morshedul and Dr Fahmedul Haque will be present as special guests at the ceremony. Chaired by BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, Director of Film and Cinematography Department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Badrul Anam Bhuiyan will deliver the welcome speech.
This year, 48 short films and 22 documentary films were screened at the festival. Of the selected films, ’Best Film’ will get Taka one lakh, ’Best Filmmaker’ will get Taka 50,000 and ’Special Jury Award’ will get Taka 25,000 for both short films and documentary films.
After the award ceremony, the awarded films will be screened at the same venue today.
