The ruling Awami League-nominated mayoral candidate for the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) by-polls Atiqul Islam on Tuesday unveiled his election manifesto with a pledge to introducing e-ticketing system in city transportation aiming to cut sufferings of city dwellers and build a better Dhaka.
Atiqul announced his election manifesto titled “Shobai miley, shobar Dhaka” at Lakeshore Hotel in the capital around 11.30 am.
In the manifesto, the AL-nominated candidate said once he is elected as the DNCC mayor, an integrated e-ticketing system would be introduced in transportation, city traffic management system would be controlled digitally and civic problems would be resolved applying apps.
Stressing the need for addressing all urban problems together, he said: “Dhaka is not only my city but your city too. The city deserves a little awareness and cooperation from you”.
Pledging to complete all projects taken during the era of previous city mayor Annisul Haq, Atiqul said he has plans to take steps to control mosquito, check air pollution, ensure open space and play grounds for city dwellers, develop drainage system and construct multi-storey underground complexes in the capital.
AL leaders, business leaders, cultural personalities and eminent citizens were present.
