The maiden episode of ‘Amader Santanera’, a TV programme produced by Channel I and planned and anchored by eminent freedom fighter, organiser, theatre and film personality Nasiruddin Yusuf, will be aired tonight at 8:25pm. The first ever gold medal winner from Bangladesh in International Mathematical Olympiad, Ahmed Zawad Chowdhury will appear as the guest in the opening episode.
However, International Mathematical Olympiad began in 1959 in Romania. Bangladesh took part in the contest for the first time in 2005, while in 2009, Bangladesh won a bronze medal for the first time.
The 59th edition of the International Mathematical Olympiad held in 2018 in Romania once again and this time, Bangladesh won the gold medal bagged by Zawad.
Born to Abu Zonayed Chowdhury and Syeda Farhana Khanam, Zawad has completed his intermediate education from the Chattogram English School and College.
Through a TV show like Amader Santanera, Nasiruddin Yusuf has tried to discover and let the viewers know about the invaluable treasures hidden in the persons like Zawad, who represented Bangladesh in an international level and brought glory to the country.
