Both the coaches of hosts Abahani Limited Mario Lamos and the visitors Minarva Punjub FC’s Sachin Badadhe are eyeing to win the today’s match of the AFC Cup qualifiers. The match will kick off a 5:45 pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital.

It will be the second match for both the sides but the hosts Abahani will play the match with some inspiration moods as they began the campaign with a winning note at away ground defeating Manang Marshyandhi Club of Nepal.

Minarva Punjab, have also some solace before playing their second match when they forced the Chennaiyin FC at their home ground to a 1-1 draw in their opening match.

However, the coaches when put across their expectation and targets in a pre-match conference yesterday, head coach of Abahani Limited Mario Lamos praising the opponents in his speech to the media said “Minarva Punjub is very strong team, they have some strong booters in different positions but we need to win and we can make it success.”

But the Bulgarian coach Mario Lamos told about some of their problems like, they would have to play the AFC Cup match just after playing their domestic league match against Sheikh Jamal and it was not enough time for recovery to play an international match.

“We played a league match against Jamal just three days ago and it is not enough time for recovery but we don"t want to make any excuse of like this as we will have to win the match and we hope to win.”

About their low scoring win against Manang Marsyangdi Club in Nepal, Mario Lamos said, “It is not problem, we will have to play with intensity and concentration. Due to lack of concentration we conceded a goal inside 30 seconds of the match against Jamal but scored four goals latter on and that is the focus. So boys will have to play with their full strength.”

Ramos have belief on his players as he said, “Sunday, Jibon, Rubel even Belfort also have the ability to score goals, I think we have many options to score goals and to win the match but it will very tough match.”

Replying to a query Mario Lamos said, “It is second game, many games ahead of us, we like to go game by game.”

Shahidul Alam Sohel, captain and the goalkeeper of Abahani said, “It is very important match, we will give our 100 percent. We recovered well, we did all what we needed to recover.”

Sohel also said that they are boosted up with their winning start – “We are boosted up with the first match win and we don"t think about the margin but win is important.”

Sachin Badadhe, coach of Minarva Punjab explaining his confidence to win the match said, “Our main target to obtain three points from this match. Hope we will be able to score more goals in this match. We have the highest scorer in the I League.”

To Sachin Badadhe all the venues, home or away are equal to him as he said, “Minarva Punjab is the only team, who had to play all their domestic match at away ground, so nothing matter to play at away ground.” Minarva"s midfielder Souvik Das was also present during media briefing.
