Families of four students, who went missing from Dhaka's Farmgate area on Saturday, have demanded information about the whereabouts of their children.
The demand was made at a press conference organized by the families at Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) in Dhaka on Tuesday morning.
At the press conference, the guardians alleged that plainclothe police arrested the four students from a bus at Farmgate on Saturday when they were returning their homes after shopping at Aziz Super Market at Shahbagh.
The missing students are: Abu Khaled Mohammad Jabed of Asian University, Borhan Uddin of Stamford University, Rezaul Khalek of Manarat University, and Dr Syed Mominul Hasan of Dhaka Unany Ayurbedik Medical College.
The guardians claimed that they came to know about their arrest by one of their friends who was also in the bus. being informed, they contacted all nearby police stations, including of Tejgaon and different law enforcement agencies. But, all denied the arrest.
Expressing concern about the fate of the missing students, their families said that despite two days have passed after the arrest, they have yet been produced before the court.
They claimed that their children were not involved with any offense. If they conduct any offense, police should bring them to court, but they are not doing so, the families added, reports a Bangla online newspaper.
