CHILD Foundation, in collaboration with Faculty of Fine Arts, Dhaka University (DU), is going to organise an event titled ‘Art for Autism 2019’ on April 19 and 20 at Charukola, Faculty of Fine Art (FFA), DU.
Artist Hashem Khan and Rafiqun Nabi will inaugurate the art camp tomorrow at 9am, Nisar Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Fine Art, DU will be present as chief guest.
The two-day event will feature art camp for children, art camp for professionals, puppet show, art exhibition, live music for children and award ceremony.
The event is a pleasurable and fun activity for children with special need. It can be an effective way to communicate and also fulfil sensory needs of children with autism and other neurological disorder. The goal of this event is to promote socialisation through art and celebrate their abilities.
This collaborative effort between the Faculty of Fine Art, Dhaka University and CHILD will give these children a platform to show their creativity through art not only to the art society but also to the mass population. They will gain confidence about their abilities. Parents of children with special needs will feel more positive and work harder to help these children flourish.
