On the same day around 3:30pm, Ganashasthaya Pharmaceuticals was also attacked.

Bangladesh is scrapping an international tender to import 50,000 tonnes of wheat, citing higher prices, two officials from the state grains procurement agency said on Sunday. Agrocorp International made the lowest offer of $297.20 a tonne, including CIF liner out, in the tender, which was issued late last month by the Directorate General of Food, the procurement agency.

At least four people were killed and 12 shot and three officers injured responding to an active shooting incident at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday, local media and CNN reported. "There are fatalities," an emergency responder said on local television station KDKA. The conditions of the officers were not immediately known. A "bearded heavy-set white male" was in custody, KDKA said, adding that responding officers "received fire."

Parliament has passed the Narcotics Control Act 2018 with a provision for death penalty to the people convicted of yaba manufacture, distribution and trade. All types of drugs, including yaba and Shisha, have been added to the new law. The maximum penalty will be death in case of over 5 grams of methamphetamine. The punishments for such offences also include life-term imprisonment and fines in the law. “It’s a cruel law. Anybody carrying 25 grams of drugs will be sentenced to life in prison or death,” said Jatiya Party's Shamim Haider Patwary.
