Talented Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan, who earned immense appreciation from both local and Indian viewers, won the Tele Cine Award 2019 as the best actress award for her Indian Bengali film ‘Bijoya’. The award ceremony held on Saturday at the Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata.
Kolkata based Tele Cine Society (TCS) organised the programme to honour the artistes from the two Bengals--India’s West Bengal state and Bangladesh.
Besides, four other artistes from Bangladesh, SI Tutul, Chanchal Chowdhury, Zakia Bari Mamo and Ankhi Alamgir also received Kolkata’s Tele Cine Award this year.
On the other hand, veteran film actor Faruk Ahmed from Bangladesh was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his immense contribution to the film industry.
SI Tutul honoured as the best singer in the playback singer category, while Zakia Bari Mamo and Chanchal Chowdhury received the award as best actress and actor respectively from Bangladesh. Singer Ankhi Alamgir also awarded at the 18th addition of the Tele Cine Award.
This year, ’Pother Pachali’ and ’Close Up One’-famed anchor Debashish Biswas hosted the award ceremony.
Earlier, Nayak Raj Razzak and actress Babita from Bangladesh were honoured with lifetime achievement award.
