The ‘Second Bangladesh Film Festival’ is set to begin today at the Nandan cinema hall in Kolkata. National Film Award-winning actor Ferdous Ahmed will participate in the festival as a delegation member of Bangladesh government.
The actor will leave for Kolkata today at 11am. A total of 21 films will be screened during the three-day festival to promote the contemporary Bangladeshi films to the Indian audience. Of these films, Ferdous has acted in three films titled ’Postmaster 71’, ’Putro’ and ’Guerrilla’.
DhakaLive has news that the Information Minister of Bangladesh, Muhammad Hasan Mahmud will also attend the festival in Kolkata. About being a member of government delegation, Ferdous said, “This is for the first time I am going to participate in a film festival as a delegation member of the government. As an artiste, I feel very proud.”
“I would especially like to thank our honourable information minister. I hope the film festival will be a grand success,” he added.
The actor is scheduled to return to the country on February 18.
Earlier, the actor had been invited to attend as a guest to a number of film festivals in Kolkata.
On the other hand, the shooting of Ferdous’s current film ’Gangchil’, directed by Nayeem Imtiaz Neyamul, will begin from March 1 in Noakhali. The actor is also busy with two other films ’Jam’ and ’Save Life’.
