‘Introspection’, an exhibition of photographic works by Kazi Anisul Haque Barun, is underway at Zainul Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Art at Dhaka University (DU).
Professor Dr Syed Manzoorul Islam, Department of English and Humanities, University of Liberal Arts, eminent photographer Nasir Ali Mamun and Professor Nisar Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Fine Arts, DU jointly inaugurated the exhibition on April 24 on the gallery premises.
Anisul Haque Barun has distinguished himself as a theatre performer, designer, choreographer and director, besides directing several short films he has also become widely known as a photographer.
He focuses mostly on nature, minutely observing how seasonal changes leave their mark on trees and meadows, flowers and creepers. In his exhibition, Barun has concentrated on the barks of trees where the simple cracks and fissures reveal a profusion of designs. Barun also focuses on the different formations of moss on brick walls, which also challenge him with meaningful images.
The exhibition remains open to all every day from 11am to 7pm, until May 7.
