Major opposition of the country BNP has submitted its financial statement to the Election Commission (EC) yesterday. The statement shows the party has around Tk 6.13 crore as surplus after meeting all the expenditures of the party affairs for the year of 2018. According to party’s account statement submitted to the EC, the BNP earned Tk 98,656,380 while it spent Tk 37,329,143 in the last year and Tk 61,327,237 was remaining.
A BNP delegation led by its Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal went to the EC in the afternoon to submit the party’s accounts on income and expenditure for 2018.
The delegation handed over the statement to EC secretary Mohammed Alamgir.
Talking to The Independent, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal said the source of income include selling of nomination forms before the parliament elections, collection of annual fees from party leaders and activists and donations.
