The organisation already signed Kohli, Amir, Malinga and Shakib for Asia XI Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed England-based Event Management Company to fix the current star and globe-trotting cricketers for the two international Twenty20 matches which will be played in Dhaka to celebrate Bangabandhu’s centenary birth anniversary.
Its learnt from the BCB sources that the board has to spend a whopping amount of money to appoint the foreign event management company. The deal was struck during the recently-concluded ICC Cricket World Cup in the United Kingdom (UK) when BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon, CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury Shujan along with some of the board directors were there.
The board has to pay around two million dollar to strike a deal with the event management company.
Local cricket buff coupled with cricket-obsessed people will witness available current star and globe-trotting players yet again in the aftermath of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The seventh edition of the domestic Twenty20 Tournament is scheduled to start on December 6 and will end in mid-January. Just two months later, they will get a chance to have a glimpse of some Asia and out of Asian super star cricketers
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) earlier planned to organise two star-studded Twenty20 International matches to celebrate Bangabadhus birth centenary anniversary next year in pompous manner.
International Cricket Council (ICC) meanwhile approved the initiative in the aspect of the BCBs appeal and gave the matches as international recognition as a special discretion along with specified the slot of the ties.
As per the approval, the matches will be played at the Home of Cricket in Bangladesh Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur in between March 18-21 whereby players will face off each other after the name of Asian All Stars XI and Rest of the World XI.
Asia XI will be formed by the players of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and the hosts Bangladesh, while World XI will be made up of the players of West Indies, England, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Only two teams will be engaged in international games when the matches of the T20I in Bangladesh will be played. So, the possibility of getting the famous and star players will be possible.
Its learnt from The Daily Hindu, a national daily of India that Indian superstar Virat Kohli will be played in Bangladesh. The Event management company already made an agreement with Indian captain. Along with Indian superstar, the company also talked with Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga, Pakistan fast-bowler Mohammad Amir coupled with Shakib Al Hasan. Malinga and Amir, the duo who recently bade farewell to Test cricket to long their career in shorter format of games.
Malinga announced his retirement from ODI beside Test on the stroke of the second match of the three-ODI series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Amir on the other hand made his announcement of retirement in Pakistan just a few days upon his arrival from the England and Wales World Cup 2019.
